Minister of Construction and Infrastructure Dr. Abdullah Muththalib says the Road Development Corporation RDC will begin the asphalt laying process on the last segment of Ameenee Magu today.

The Minister said via a post on X that RDC began work on the last part of Ameenee Magu on the 19th of last month and now they are ready to begin the asphalt laying process.

In its latest update, RDC said that its workers have been spraying bitumen spray on the newly reconstructed road.

Minister Muththalib said earlier that the newly reconstructed road would be wider than before and that RDC was working to reopen the road before local schools after its first term holidays.

But with the schools set to reopen tomorrow, it is highly unlikely that the much-used road will be open for public use.

The recent in the country delayed the reconstruction of the last segment of the Ameenee Magu project which has now been delayed several times.
