The Opposition, MDP's candidate for the Male' City Mayor Adam Azim says he would release the details of the Council's income and the land plots under it as well as the details of the agreements made for these land plots within one month after he win the Mayorship.
He made the remarks while speaking at the ceremony held to launch his candidacy along with the candidacy of the three other individuals who are contesting for the empty slots on the Male' City Council.
Azim, who is the former CEO of Maldives Transport and Contracting Company MTCC, said that the Male' City Council can only be run under a transparent policy and that the public doesn't know the expenditures and incomes of the Council.
He further said that the public is unable to get services unless they call or beg a top official from the Council.
Azim said that he would develop a system through which the public can seek the Council's services in a streamlined manner.
The MDP Candidate revealed his pledges if he won the vote to elect a Mayor for Male' City. He said that he would meet with the people of Male' City four times a year. He also said he would find a way for the public to get the Council's services without having to beg for it and bring a stop to backend deals.
