Police have confiscated scores of documents after they raided the office of the Road Development Corporation RDC yesterday.

Police entered the RDC office yesterday afternoon to execute a search warrant of the office in relation to a case they are investigating. Sources said that Police officers searched the office till 11:00 p.m. and that they took away several boxes full of documents which they loaded onto a police truck.

Police said today that they have now begun analyzing the evidence they collected from the raid on the RDC Office.

It has been reported that the raid was part of the investigation into the missing MVR 13 million petty cash from RDC.

Police launched its investigation after allegations of criminal breach of trust against RDC Managing Director Moosa Ali Manik and Chief Financial Officer CFO Yasir Hassan surfaced earlier this year.

They have been accused of siphoning off MVR 13.8 million from company accounts to their own accounts. Some sources have said that the duo transferred the MVR 13.8 million from RDC's main bank account at BML to Yasir's account.

But RDC denied such transactions have happened citing company financial reports and the MD too has denied such allegations.
