The Fenaka Managing Director Ahmed Saeed Mohammed has denied allegations that the employees hired for political purposes.

According to the figures released by the Office of the President-elect on Thursday:

• At the end of 2018, Fenaka had 2,756 employees

• The company has 8,126 employees as of this year

• Since March this year, 747 employees have been added

According to some statistics released by Fenaka today, there are currently 5,909 employees in permanent positions. There are 2,199 contract workers. Therefore, the company currently has 8,108 employees.

That's 18 fewer employees than the President-elect's office said.

Interim spokesman Mohammed Firzul told reporters on Thursday that Fenaka had hired many employees to do a single job. Citing the preparation of bills as an example, Firzul said there were seven employees to do the work but there are nearly 40 employees to do the work.

In addition, every election is announced in the gazette to recruit more employees. Therefore, it is always accused that the company is adding more employees than it needs for political purposes.

However, Saeed denied the allegations at today's press conference, saying most of the water and sewerage projects started by Fenaka were being completed in the middle of last year and early this year.
