The Interim Chairperson of the Democrats MP for Henveiru West Constituency Hassan Latheef has announced that he will be competing for the post of the party's President in the upcoming internal elections.
Hassan, who is the founder of the party, said via a post on 'X' that he has submitted the application for the post. Hassan urged the members of the newly formed party to focus and be on the right track to face the challenges ahead.
He also asked for the assistance and cooperation of the members of the party.
The Democrats opened the application for the posts last Sunday and said that it would be open till the 15th of next month. The Party said that any member who registered before the 15th of next month can apply to compete for the posts.
The Democrats are looking to fill the posts of Party President, Party Vice president, as well as women wing leaders and youth wing leaders.
The voting for the internal election is to take place on the 2nd of December.
