Police confirm that a youth injured in an accident that occurred on the 9th of this month in Fuvahmulah City has died because of his injuries.
The victim succumbed to his injuries after he was transferred to Male' for further treatment.
Police said that they received a report of an accident in Fuvahmulah last Saturday around 10:55 pm in the evening. Police said that the accident happened when a cyclist skidded off a road bumper on Naibuthuthu Magu while traveling at a high speed.
They said that the victim of the accident was rushed to the city's hospital and then transferred out of the city to Male' on the 10th of this month for further treatment.
Police further said that the victim succumbed to his injuries today while under treatment at ADK hospital and that this has been confirmed by the hospital.
They identified the victim as a 30-year-old local man and said that the victim had a valid drivers' license.
Police said that they would further investigate the incident.
