Maldives Meteorological Services, the Met Office has issued yellow alerts for major parts of the country amid worsening weather across the country.
Earlier today, the Met Office issued a yellow alert for torrential rain from Gaafu Alifu to Addu City. The alert was from 10:15 a.m. to 02:14 p.m. in the afternoon.
It said that torrential rain was expected in the region during this time.
The Met Office then issued a yellow alert for torrential rain from Kaafu Atoll to Meemu Atoll. This alert was from 12:15 p.m. to 04:15 p.m. later today.
It said that torrential rain was also expected in the region during this time.
The Met office issued a nationwide white alert due to the worsening weather conditions across the country today saying that heavy rain and rough conditions are expected till 04:00 p.m. in the evening today.
It detailed that heavy rain and thunderstorms with gusts of 45 miles per hour is expected.
