President's Office says President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih and First Lady Fazna Ahmed will host the Official Independence Day Reception on Tuesday, July 25, 2023, at the Islamic Centre Courtyard.
The President's Office said that it is extending invitations to a large number of distinguished guests for the event.
It said that invitations to the reception have been extended to former Presidents, senior government officials, state dignitaries, Members of Parliament, Ministers from previous administrations, senior members of the judiciary and independent institutions, members of various commissions, and political appointees.
The President's Office further said that invitations to the Official Independence Day Reception have been extended to diverse individuals, including youth, women, individuals with special needs, outstanding sports personalities, and students from universities, colleges, and schools. Foreign dignitaries will also be in attendance at the event.
The Maldives celebrates its Independence Day on the 26th of July after being liberated from colonial rule of the Britain on the same date back in 1965.
