President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih says his aim is to win the September Presidential Election with huge backing from the island of Meemu Nalafushi as he continues his campaign trail in the central Atoll.

The President today visited Nalafushi on the second leg of his trip to Meemu Atoll after touching down in Kolhufushi earlier today.

Speaking at a gathering in Nalafushi, President Solih said that under the policies set by the previous administrations, developmental changes will come to small islands like Nalafushi with a population of just over 300 in 15 or 20 years.

President said such policies were averted during his administration and stated that his aim was to provide essential services regardless of the size of the island.

In a tweet, President also said that once a new harbor is built on Nalafushi and the development of the airport on nearby Muli is complete, the two islands would be connected and that this in turn would resolve the housing issue on Nalafushi.

President Solih added that God willing he aims to win the election with huge support from the island.

During his trip to Nalafushi, he inaugurated the newly-built powerhouse on the island before embarking on the next leg of his trip to Meemu Atoll, Muli.
