President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih says 'oneGov' is the foundation of the country's transition to a digital government.
He made this statement while unveiling the oneGov platform, which integrates government services through a modern digital interface, facilitating seamless interactions between the public and the government.
Vice President Faisal Naseem was also present at the event, which took place at Sultan Park.
During his speech at the ceremony, President Solih emphasized the importance of the oneGov platform in enabling citizens to access government services remotely through a citizen-centric approach.
He stated that, as a geographically isolated island nation, oneGov is a crucial tool for the Maldives to combat climate change and achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
President Solih stated that the platform, which offers digital government services 24/7, would aid in combating corruption, reducing paper consumption, and promoting environmental and economic growth.
The oneGov platform can be accessed through the National Digital Identity Service 'efaas.'
The platform initially integrates services from six government offices and institutions, with plans for continued expansion as more government services are added. The platform is supported by three contact centers nationwide, where the public can seek assistance in person or through online consultations. President Solih also encouraged the public to use the platform's convenience.
