MNP Presidential Candidate Colonel Retired Mohamed Nazim says under the government of MNP, it would build an airport in Haa Dhaalu Makunudhoo.

Speaking at a campaign rally in Makunudhoo yesterday, Nazim said the people of the island have been hoping for an airport for many years. He said he would build an airport with a 1,200-metre runway on the island. He added that no inhabitant would oppose it.

Nazim said the islanders are living in hardship traveling via sea and that an air taxi service will be provided to make it easier for the people to travel.

He noted that Air taxi is a temporary solution and the permanent solution to transportation in the city will be provided by developing the airport.

Nazim stated that he would build a hospital in Makunudhoo and establish a gynecology ward in the village with gynecologists.

He further stated that Scanning and X-ray services will also be made available.

The MNP Presidential Candidate vowed that his government would build 14 guesthouses on the island and that the keys to the guesthouses would be handed over to the youth of the island.

Nazim said Makunudhoo is an island that has been neglected by all the governments and that is why many things are not being done on the island. He said he is likely to see senior government officials during the election season and said that he will be the one to save Makunudhoo.
