A tourist on a resort in Alifu Alifu Atolls has drowned.
Police said that a report of the incident came in around 10:30 am in the morning and the tourist was rushed to Alifu Alifu Atoll Hospital. Police added that the tourist was pronounced dead on arrival.
The drowning victim has been identified as a 65-year-old man from the UK. Police said that they were further investigating the tragedy.
Drowning incidents are fairly common in the Maldives, especially among visiting tourists.
Yesterday a tourist died on a diving excursion at Rasdhoo Madivaru diving point in Alifu Alifu Atoll.
They identified the victim of the tragic incident as a 46-year-old man from the United Kingdom. Police said that they were further investigating the incident.
The reason behind the incident still remains unclear.
