Maldives Monetary Authority MMA has decided to give a two-hour break to their female employees who have nursing babies.

The Central bank made the decision on the occasion of International Women's Day celebrated yesterday.

It said that the Bank is always working for gender equality and to create a friendly working environment for women. It added that the Bank has always been exemplary in the development of women in the workplace.

With this decision MMA has extended the 1-hour break it gives to female employees who have nursing babies at home to 2 hours now.

MMA is also the first organization in the Maldives to increase the maternity leave given to pregnant employees to 6 months.
