Swell waves surges have flooded the Carnival Area in the Capital Male'.
The wave surges have been rushing into Male' from that area since earlier this morning. Some cafes and restaurants in the area have been affected by the surging gush of seawater.
The water has also affected the vehicles parked in the area.
Water from the surges has reportedly spread to the main outer road in Male', Bodu thakurufaanu Magu.
Male' City Council said that it was monitoring the situation near the Carnival area.
This area is usually affected by wave surges during bad weather.
Meanwhile, the Met Office issued a white alert for swell wave surges from Kaafu Atoll to Addu City. The alert was issued from 08:45 am to 1:30 pm.
