Judicial Service Commission JSC says it is now probing a misconduct complaint against the Chief Magistrate of Kaafu Guraidhoo Magistrate.

JSC said that the Chief Magistrate has been negligent in reviewing the cases filed at the Guriadhoo Magistrate Court as per article 139 of the Criminal Procedure Act as well as the regulation on Court trials on Criminal procedure.

It further said that the Commission decided to probe the complaint at its 73rd meeting and that this meeting was held on the 19th of this month.

JSC also said that it had formed a special committee to investigate this matter.

The Commission has been investigating such complaints against Judges recently.

Since this administration has come into power, the JSC has investigated several judges for misconduct and has taken appropriate action against them.

These diciplinary action include suspension from work as well as dismissing them from their posts.
