Speaker of the Parliament Mohamed Nasheed has repeated his comments saying that the anti-India campaign 'IndiaOut' has no support in the Maldives.
The anti-India campaign is being led by the opposition and calls for the withdrawal of Indian troops supposedly deployed across different regions in the Maldives.
The opposition has been organizing anti-India rallies as well as dumping paraphernalia on the subject.
In a Tweet, Nasheed said that political leaders must stay away from activities that would isolate the Maldives in the International arena even if those activities bolster their political popularity.
Nasheed further said the 'IndiaOut' campaign has no support in the Maldives and this is proven by the dwindling number of supporters who turn out for the anti-India activities.
Social media activists from MDP also joined Nasheed in denouncing the 'IndiaOut' campaign and this includes the Deputy Managing Director of the national carrier Maldivian, Aishath Jennifer.
She reminded us that if India didn't open a travel corridor for Maldivians during the pandemic, many would have suffered.
