Health Protection Agency HPA has confirmed that 34 islands across the country are currently under monitoring due to the spread of COVID-19.

HPA said that Raa Atoll Inguraidhoo was placed under monitoring today because of the increasing number of COVID cases while it had placed Baa Atoll Thulhaadhoo under monitoring yesterday.

With this, the Agency had placed 32 islands under monitoring since the turn of the year.

The current list of islands under monitoring includes three from Laamu Atoll including Gan which was placed under monitoring on the 14th of this month along with Dhanbidhoo and Hithadhoo, both placed under monitoring on the 22nd of this month.

Three islands from Gaafu Dhaalu Atoll are also on the list of islands under monitoring and these include Gahdhoo, Madaveli, and Vaadhoo Island.

Hulhudheli, Kudahuvadhoo, and Bandidhoo of Dhaalu Atoll are also under monitoring while three islands from Shaviyani Atoll also remain under monitoring due to COVID. These include Funadhoo, Kanditheem, and Milandhoo.

Meanwhile, Maafushi island and Guraidhoo of Kaafu Atoll are also monitoring with the former placed on the list last year.

Haa Alifu Ihavandhoo was also placed under monitoring last year and Dhidhoo of the same atoll also is under quarantine.

From the north, Haa Dhaalu Kulhudhufushi, Nolhivaram, and Hanimaadhoo all are under monitoring because of the spread of the pandemic. Also, Eydhafushi, Kendhoo, and Thulhaadhoo from Baa Atoll have also been placed under monitoring due to the pandemic.
