Maldives Pension Administration Office has dismissed its CEO John Grindal for acting against its code of conduct.

Media reports have said that Grindal was dismissed from office last month due to a sexual harassment case. But the Pension Office quickly denied these reports.

Speaking to "The Press", Public Relations Officer at the Pension Office Aishath Fazuna said that the office had revoked Grindal's employment contract due to a breach of conduct.

She refrained from detailing the nature of the misconduct.

Local media reports have once again said that the ex-CEO was fired for a sexual harassment complaint.

Grindal was appointed as the CEO of the Pension Office in December 2020.

The UK national has more than 25 years of experience in the fields of insurance and pension administration.

Grindal has now moved back to the UK following his dismissal.
