Former Commissioner of Police Hussain Waheed says he had been summoned to the commission on death and disappearances 6 times to give statements regarding the missing journalist Ahmed Rilwan.
While Waheed was summoned to the commission last Tuesday, he confirmed via a Facebook post that it had been his 6th visit to the commission.
Waheed went onto say that in July he had been summoned to the commission on five separate occasions and he had been answering the commission's questions on Hajj day as well.
The Former Commissioner also noted his observations of the last summon and highlighted a lack of cooperation from the commission. He said that they had not been able to talk because of the orders from higher-ups at the commission.
Waheed said that he noticed how the members of the commission were stuck in a difficult situation and that it was as if they had to submit a report within a given deadline.
Ahmed Rilwan is believed to have been abducted on 7th August 2014 on his way home in Hulhumale'. Investigators had said Rilwan's abductors had forced him into a vehicle and had dropped a knife in the process.
Investigators are now further examining the weapon and had sent it abroad for forensic examinations.
