Prosecutor General's Office has sent charged four suspects in relation to the failed terrorist attack against the Speaker of the Parliament Mohamed Nasheed in May of this year.

This was revealed by the Commissioner of Police Mohamed Hameed via Twitter ahead of a critical news conference by the PG Office later today.

In his Tweet, Commissioner Hameed said that he had just learned that the PG Office has sent charges to Criminal Court against 4 suspects connected to the May 6th terror attack.

Commissioner Hameed congratulated all officers and staff involved in this major case for their superb work and added that the police would continue to work on more suspects.

He added that violent extremism would be defeated.

Yesterday, PG Office had said that it had made several prosecution decisions regarding the case and that it would reveal the details of these decisions and others during the press conference scheduled for 2 pm later today.
