Health Protection Agency HPA has confirmed that fully vaccinated individuals currently under quarantine after traveling can be released now upon submitting a negative PCR test.
HPA said that such individuals can only be released from quarantine if it had been 14 days since they received the second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.
The Agency further said that children who traveled with such individuals can also be released from quarantine upon submitting a negative PCR test as children are still ineligible to receive the COVID vaccine.
Meanwhile, HPA said that international travelers who are currently under quarantine in the Maldives upon arrival, can be released from quarantine after 7 days of isolation, if the individuals have received 2 doses of a vaccine approved by the WHO at least 2 weeks prior to travel.
HPA added that such travelers would also be released from quarantine upon submitting a negative PCR test.
The new ease of traveling comes amid a significant drop in cases as the country looks to bounce back from a devastating 3rd wave of the COVID-19 global pandemic.
Today, HPA had repealed the curfew implemented in the Greater Male' Area while it allowed a host of new eases including allowing dine-services at eating establishments till 11:30 pm.
