Speaker of the Parliament and former President Mohamed Nasheed has said that he does not believe that the current administration is involved in the failed assassination attempt against him last May.
He made the comments while answering questions on the "Ask Speaker" program hosted on Clubhouse, a social media app where users can communicate in voice chat rooms that accommodate groups of thousands of people.
Nasheed said that he had no doubt that the government was not involved in the against his person.
The Speaker went on to say that at the end of the investigation, it cannot be just the four involved in detonating the explosive device.
Nasheed said that the investigation should uncover others who were involved in planning the attack and funding the attack.
Although, Nasheed had said that the government was not involved in the near-fatal attack, his daughter Mira Laila had said on several occassions that the attack was an 'inside job' and aimed accusations at Home Minister Imran Abduallah and Defense Mariya Ahmed Didi.
