Police have arrested two individuals for allegedly abducting and assaulting a man in Kulhudhufushi City last month.

Police said that they had arrested two local men last night in relation to the incident that occurred on the 29th of May. They said that both men were arrested under a court order and that they were 24 years and 25 years of age.

Police also said that they had seized custody of the car used for the abduction and that the seize was also made under court order.

They said that Police were actively investigating the case.

The victim of the brutal attack had been identified as Ahmed Ibrahim of Kulhudhufushi Raifusge and his family had confirmed to the local media that he had sustained serious injuries to his head and brain in the assault.

The Victim's family had said that he had been flown to Male' for more treatment and that he had undergone major brain surgery at ADK hospital.

The family said that he suffered serious brain damage and that Ahmed remained on the ventilator.

Quoting his doctors, the family said that his skull had fractured into pieces and that his doctors had replaced these pieces with artificial skull fragments.

Also, the doctors had reported swelling in his brain, and are waiting for a window to perform another life-saving operation on the victim.
