The Maldives has cleared its stance on the growing aggression shown by Israeli military forces occupying Palestinian lands by saying that the Maldives would always stand in solidarity with the Palestinian people.

Sharing the red, black, white, and red flag of Palestine, President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih said that the people of Maldives stand in solidarity with Palestine.

Presidential spokesperson Mohamed Mabrook Azeez also took to the social media platform to further clear the Maldivian stance by saying that the Maldives stands against injustice and in solidarity with the Palestinian people’s struggle to secure their inalienable right to statehood.

Mabrook also said that all relations between Maldives and Israel remain suspended, including the ban on Israeli products.

Meanwhile, the Speaker of the Parliament and former President Mohamed Nasheed said via Twitter that he been horrified watching the news about Gaza's bombardment and that Israel must stop the attacks and that the hostilities must end.

Nasheed went on to say that the blockade against Palestine must be lifted so that its people can trade, earn a living, live their lives. He added that the only way to lasting peace is the two-state solution.

At least 213 Palestinians, including 61 children, have been killed in Gaza since the Israeli attacks began earlier this month. About 1,500 Palestinians have been wounded.
