Addu Emergency Operations Center AEOC says a total of 64 people have now tested positive for COVID-19 in Addu City.
AEOC said that in the last 24 hours, another COVID-19 case had been confirmed in the city.
Giving a further breakdown of the case details, AEOC said that 20 confirmed cases have been reported from Hithadhoo while additional 26 cases have been reported in Hulhudhoo Meedhoo.
It also reported that 14 cases have been confirmed Feydhoo while 4 cases were reported from Maradhoofeydhoo. AEOC also reported that Maradhoo is yet to report a COVID-19 case.
AEOC said that 345 direct contacts of the positive cases have been detected in the City and that 214 buildings have been placed under quarantine.
AEOC also confirmed that 1 COVID-19 patient is currently hospitalized for further treatment in the City.
Addu City has been under monitoring since earlier this month following a suspected case of a community spread of the COVID-19 pandemic there and authorities have taken several restrictive measures in the southernmost city to further deter the infection.
This includes an 8-hour curfew in the city from 8 pm to 4 am every day.
