Health authorities on Thursday, 20 August 2020, confirm a total of 127 individuals recovering from Covid-19 after contracting the disease previously.
Health Protection Agency (HPA) notes that with Thursday's new batch of recoveries the total number of recoveries in the country have surged to 3,915.
Meanwhile Maldives reports a total of 6,370 positive cases from the country inclusive of both recoveries and active cases while 24 individuals have already passed away due to the viral disease.
The total number of active cases with Thursday's new batch of positive cases have lifted to 2,431 with 161 of these individuals being hospitalized. On Thursday, health authorities reported a total of 145 new positive cases.
While a total of 1,355 individuals are placed in various isolation facilities, Thursday's new batch of positive cases included 123 Maldivians while 11 of the cases were of Bangladesh expats, 3 more from india along with 5 Sri Lankans, 1 from Nepal, one more from Japan and one Jordanian.
Furthermore, authorities also confirm 142 out of the 145 cases were discovered from Greater Male' Region while the remaining 3 were from various atolls outside of the Maldives capital's region.
