Health Protection Agency HPA confirms that a record number of individuals infected with COVID-19 has recovered from the illness today.
HPA reported that today, 198 people have recovered from the pandemic here in the Maldives taking the total number of recoveries to a promising 3208.
The Agency said with the new recoveries the number of active cases of COVID-19 has now fallen from 2540 t0 2449 despite the fact that 107 new cases were reported in the Maldives today.
HPA said that 1518 remained under isolation at state manned facilities across the country and that 146 individuals were admitted to the hospital for further treatment.
The COVID-19 pandemic has claimed 22 lives here in the Maldives including 17 locals and 5 foreigners.
The locals who succumbed to the pandemic include 8 men and 9 women.
The five foreigners who died include 5 Bangladeshi men and 1 Filipino man.
