Health authorities on Wednesday, 12 August 2020, has confirmed another death related to Covid-19 pandemic.
According to authorities an elderly local woman has passed away after contracting the viral contagion. Meanwhile, Health Protection Agency (HPA) have not commented on it yet.
Sources further claim the victim was being treated at the Hulhumale' Medical Facility at the time of her demise.
As of Wednesday the total death toll in Maldives has risen to 20 while the total number of cases reported in the country based on latest statistics stood at 5,157.
Moreover, the number of active cases have reached 2,307 with 145 of these individuals being hospitalized. On the other hand, 2831 individuals have recovered showing a 54.90 percent recovery rate.
