Health Emergency Operations Center HEOC reports another case of COVID-19 from Addu City Hithadhoo as the city confirms its 4th case of the pandemic.

HEOC said the latest to test positive for COVID-19 from Hithadhoo is a 21-year-old local woman and she tested positive for COVID-19 after being tested upon completing the mandatory home quarantine period.

She is the 3rd person to test positive for COVID-19 in Hithadhoo and 4th person to get infected in Addu City since the 8th of this month.

On the 8th of August, a COVID-19 case was reported from Addu City Feydhoo while two cases of COVID-19 were reported from Addu City Hithadhoo on the next day.

The four individuals who tested positive for COVID-19 in Addu City include 3 locals and 1 foreigner.

Health Protection Agency HPA has reported active cases of COVID-19 in 12 islands right now. This includes include Haa Alifu Kela, Haa Alifu Ihavandhoo, Haa Alifu Filladhoo, Haa Dhaalu Navaidhoo, Baa Kudarikilu, Baa Kamadhoo, Raa Hulhudhufaaru, Lhaviyani Hinnavaru, Kaa Maafushi, Vaavu Fulidhoo, Fuvamulah City and Addu City Hithadhoo.

A total of 5157 individuals have tested positive for COVID-19 in the country and 2303 remain as active cases of COVID-19 in the Maldives.
