Maldives Minister of Finance on Sunday confirm disbursement of MVR10 million as front-line allowance to a total of 825 individuals.

In a tweet Minister Ibrahim Ameer confirms that a total of MVR10.4 million was on Sunday, 09 August as part of the state's initiative to provide allowance for front-line workers combatting Covid-19 pandemic in the country.

Moreover, Minister Ameer notes that a total of 1,045 individuals have received MVR13.4 million in allowances from March until June's end.

Minister Ameer further comments "additional frontline workers will be paid soon" as he also notes the work was currently onging to process the allowance for the said staff.

Earlier, complaints mounted over delay in frontline allowance for workers who have been at the forefront in combatting the viral contagion.
