Bank of Maldives (BML) confirms holding their annual general meeting on 31 August 2020.

The country's national bank further announced their 2019 annual general meeting will be officially held at 10:00hrs on Monday morning.

BML is expected to host their 2019 AGM through Maldives Securities Depository's online meeting management system; 'FahiVote' which was last utilized by telecom giant Dhiraagu in their recent annual general meeting.

Meanwhile the national bank urges all of its shareholders and proxies participating in the 2019 AGM to pre-register between 11until 29 August. The bank further requests participants to use infinity.mv for pre-registration.

Proxies attending the virtual AGM on behalf of BML's shareholders to submit the form for voting rights during the meeting, 48 hours ahead of the meeting via e-mail.

BML had earlier confirmed a net profit of MVR200 million during the final quarter of 2019, while it later notes a slowdown in business activity in the most recent quarter in light of the Covid-19 global pandemic.

The existence of the viral pandemic is also the primary reason of Bank of Maldives moving towards a virtual option for their AGM, to ensure safety.
