President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih says the government is working to appoint a highly competent international investigator to the team probing the disappearance of journalist Ahmed Rilwan
In a handwritten note published via tweeter President Solih said that each day that passes without justice for the missing reporter would intensify the great sorrow his family is experiencing.
He reiterated that the government had faced several hurdles and obstacles while investigating the case of the missing journalist but would not step back on its promise to find the truth behind Rilwan’s disappearance.
President Solih also said that as per the request from his family, the government was now working to appoint an experienced international investigator to the team currently probing Rilwan’s disappearance.
The Journalist for Minivan New Rilwan Ahmed disappeared without a trace on the 8th of August 2014. Five years after his disappearance, a report published by the President Solih sanctioned Death and Disappearance Commissioned said that Rilwan is believed to have been abducted and murdered by radical thinking extremists.
The Commission’s President had gestured that the group behind his disappearance may be affiliated with terrorist organization Al-Qaida.
