Health Emergency Operations Center HEOC has announced an emergency press conference today at 4 pm as the COVID-19 crisis in the country worsens.
The HEOC usually holds its regular news briefings at 10:00 pm at night.
Sources have confirmed to ‘The Press’ that the HEOC is expected to announce several measures to control the rampant COVID-19 pandemic in the country.
The country has witnessed a rise in COVID-19 cases in the last couple of days with 344 individuals tested positive for the pandemic in the last 48 hours.
At last night’s press briefing, HEOC Spokesperson Dr. Fathimath Nazla Rafeeq indicated that authorities were having discussions on revamping the current restrictive measures to further control the pandemic and that they would announce these measures as soon as they can.
Dr. Nazla urged the country to adhere to the guidelines set by the authorities to quell the outbreak.
She also called on the public to share accurate and correct information with the authorities especially during contact tracing to help further track the spread of the infection.
