Health authorities on Monday confirm discovery of 215 Covid-19 positive cases.

As per Health Protection Agency (HPA) of Maldives among the 215 positive cases, 149 were Maldivians while the remainder included 54 Bangladeshis, 7 Indians, 2 Sri Lankans, 2 Nepalese and one expatriate from Indonesia.

Meanwhile total number of positive cases reported in Maldives have surged to reach 4,164 - inclusive of both recoveries and active cases.

On the other hand, health authorities further report of 30 recoveries on Monday while HPA adds 1,489 were receiving treatment for the viral contagion and 84 were hospitalized. As of 3 August 2020, a total of 921 individuals remain in isolation facilities.

So far a total of 10 islands across the country confirm discovery of positive Covid-19 cases; with the spread spanning from nothern most atolls to central Maldives.

Moreover, on Monday afternoon local sources made confirmation of an 18th demise related to the viral disease.
