Authorities on Thursday, 30 July 2020, confirm discovery of 09 new Covid-19 cases from Haa Alif atoll Kelaa.
The development from the northern atoll island was corroborated by the island council's President Adam Qufran. Council president further adds the individuals testing positive traveled in the same boat as the index-case of Kelaa.
Earlier, the index case of Kelaa was discovered with Covid-19 following his disembark to the island on 27 July 2020. Health Emergency Operations Center (HEOC) reveal 12 people were identified through contact-tracing.
Sources further claim the individuals in question have been sighted outside without wearing masks and had attended mosque for prayers as well.
Meanwhile health authorities claim the contact percentile of the individuals testing positive for the virus, were high.
On Thursday, it was also revealed a positive case was discovered from Baa atoll Kamadhoo as well.
