Male' City Council on Saturday announced the authority was preparing to officially open the Lonuziyaaraiy Park adjacent to Sinamale' Bridge in the Maldives capital.

According to Male' City's Mayor Shamau Shareef, apart from the expected opening, most of the construction and landscaping works in the new recreational venue have been completed.

Male' City's Mayor further claims the authority was attempting to open the venue on official capacity before the end of July.

The 'Lonuziyaaraiy Park' commenced work on February 2019, following the official opening of Sinamale' Bridge lying adjacent to the venue - which opened a year earlier in 2018. The venue has been designed and landscaped to add vegetation along with a sythetic pond and crossing above it.

Moreover, the park will accommodate more than 300 benches along with a jogging lane and bicycle lane.
