The Elections Commission has confirmed that the ruling PNC is currently the political party with the largest membership.
This comes after the Commission published membership details of all registered political parties operating in the country up untill June 2025.
The statistics showed that PNC currently has 68,665 members while the main opposition party Maldives Democratic Party MDP has 43,765 members.
The stats also showed that only one other party has more than 10,000 members and that was the Jumhooree party which has 13,456 registered members.
Maldives Developement Alliance MDA has 9,011 members while Adhaalath Party has 8,844 members. Maldives National Party MNP and the Democrats have 5,836 and 3,547 members respectively. Ex-President Abdullah Yameen's People's National Front has 3,046 members.
