Health Protection Agency HPA confirms that 31 individuals tested positive for COVID-19 today in the Maldives.
In its latest tweet, HPA reported that the 31 new cases included 22 Maldivians, 8 Bangladeshis, and an Indian national.
The new cases take the total number of COVID-19 cases in the country to 2762.
This includes more than 1100 locals and 1300 something Bangladeshi nationals.
In the past three days, the number of positive cases has remained high and the number of locals tested positive have been alarmingly high.
Meanwhile, HPA also confirmed that only 6 individuals recovered from the illness today. This takes the total number of recovered to 2290.
HPA reported that there are still 444 active cases of COVID-19 in the country with 382 in isolation and 70 individuals under quarantine.
The Maldives has reported 13 COVID-19 deaths in the country including 8 locals and 5 foreigners.
