The island of Noonu atoll Kudafari has been placed under monitoring status by Maldives health authorities.
As per the island council's member Mohamed Rameez, Kudafari has been placed under monitoring with accordance to the guidelines by Health Protection Agency (HPA) of Maldives.
Rameez further claims traveling in and out of the island have been restricted completed, with the exception of vishing vessels taking trips daily for catch.
Furthermore the councilman notes an elderly local of the island, aged 90 years, was transported to Male' City for medical urgency tested positive for Covid-19.
So far Maldives reports a total of 2,664 positive cases for Covid-19 inclusive of both active cases and recoveries. While the country reports 13 deaths related to the viral contagion, a total of 2,268 individuals have made recoveries.
Meanwhile a total of 368 individuals remain in treatment.
