Health Protection Agency HPA’s latest statistics show that 899 locals have tested positive for COVID-19 in the Maldives as HPA reported just 10 cases of the illness yesterday.
HPA had said that this includes 7 Maldivians who tested positive for the illness yesterday.
Three Bangladeshi nationals also tested positive for COVID-19 taking the daily count to 10 new cases and the total number of COVID-19 case in the Maldives to 2501.
Meanwhile, HPA also confirmed that 45 individuals have recovered from the illness in the country yesterday. This takes the total number of recovered patients to a promising 2158 with just 326 active cases of COVID-19 in the country.
HPA reported that while 273 remained under isolation 107 was quarantined at various locations across the country.
Twelve people have died of COVID-19 in the country including 7 Maldivians and 5 foreigners.
The locals who died of COVID-19 include 4 men and 3 women all above the age of 80-years except for one woman who died at the age of 77.
