Health Protection Agency HPA confirms that the number of positive cases of COVID-19 in the Maldives has now reached 2400 with 28 new cases reported yesterday.
HPA said that 7 locals and 11 Bangladeshis were tested positive for COVID-19 on Thursday.
HPA also said that 15 people recovered from illness yesterday taking the total number of recovered individuals 1969. HPA also confirmed that there are currently 416 active cases of COVID-19 in the country.
It said that 275 people were still under isolation while 115 remained under quarantine at various facilities.
Ten people have died of COVID-19 in the country including two people in the last three days. The individuals who died include five locals and five foreigners.
The Maldives has entered the third phase of the lockdown ease on the 1st of July with schools resumed and cafés and restaurants also allowed to restart operations.
