Health Protection Agency HPA says 1911 individuals have now recovered from the Covid-19 global pandemic in the Maldives.

In its latest update, HPA said that yesterday alone 36 individuals had recovered from the illness. This means that there are only 400 active cases of Covid-19 in the Maldives with 12 hospitalized for further treatment.

Meanwhile, HPA said yesterday 19 people tested positive for Covid-19 in the Maldives.

This includes 7 locals, 10 Bangladeshi nationals and 2 Indians.

With the new positive cases, the total number of positive cases of Covid-19 in the country has now reached 2324. This includes more than 800 locals and 1212 Bangladeshi nationals.

HPA also confirmed that 311 people remained under isolation while 220 people were quarantined at various facilities

The Maldives has recorded 8 Covid-19 related deaths including four locals and four Bangladeshi nationals. All the locals who passed away because of the Covid-19 were more than 80 years of age.
