Health Protection Agency HPA has reported 22 new cases of Covid-19 in the Maldives.
In its latest tweet, HPA said that 22 individuals include 4 locals, 14 Bangladeshis, and 4 Sri Lankans.
This takes the total number of cases to 2305.
Meanwhile, HPA also confirmed that a further 12 people have recovered from the illness in the country. It said that there are 417 active cases of Covid-19 in the Maldives with 1875 people now cured of the highly infectious illness.
HPA reported that 310 individuals remained under isolation while 220 were quarantined at various facilities.
The Maldives has recorded 8 deaths in relation to the global pandemic. This includes 4 locals and 4 Bangladeshis. All the locals who have died of the illness were above 80 years of age and include two women and two men.
