An officer of Maldives Correctional Service stationed at Male' Jail tests positive for Covid-19 virus.
According to Correctional Service, an ESG Officer was discovered on Saturday with Covid-19, adding they have been following standard protocols in light of the discovery.
Meanwhile the authority commented it was working with Health Protection Agency (HPA) to contract-trace and tests both officers and prisoners of the penitentiary for presence of the disease.
So far reports confirm a total of 05 new positive cases discovered on Saturday while Friday's count of total cases was at 2,150 and recoveries surged to 1,769.
