Health Protection Agency (HPA) of Maldives have urged that the captain and crew members of sea vessels must wear face masks at all times during duty hours.
According to the health authority, vessel operators and owners must ensure maximum safety of the crew members and passengers using the mode for transportation, while the Covid-19 pandemic remains without deflection in the country.
The authority on Sunday released a regulation directing vessel owners and operators to conduct their operations to ensure curb on disease spread.
Moreover, the regulation urged crew members and vessel operators to excuse from resuming duty if they show signs or symptoms of viral diseases of fever.
Furthermore, the authority advised crews to remain at a minimum of 3-feet away from their colleagues while in duty.
The regulation from HPA cited several other advices and code of conduct for vessels to ensure health and hygiene.
