A project to expand the regional hospital in HDh. Kulhudufushi commences as the hospital looks to enhance its services.
Health Service Manager at the hospital Ahmed Daud said that this expansion project would ease the space constraints in the hospital.
He highlighted that this project is important at this junction and that plans are in place to build a 100-bed tertiary hospital in the future.
Daud said that this expansion project would further improve the services currently available at the hospital and would leave those who seek its services completely satisfied with the modern touches brought about by the changes.
He said that the hospital hoped that the expansion work would be completed quickly and can work to make the dream of a tertiary hospital true.
The expansion project contains the construction of a 2-story ward with 30 beds, renovation of the OPD area, connecting the hospital’s main building, administration building, and the gynecological ward with a walkaway and also upgrading the facility’s laboratory.
The construction project is assigned to Maldives Transport and Construction Company MTCC with the agreement for the project signed on the 14 of November 2019.
The project is scheduled to finish within 6 months of the mobilization date and would cost MVR 30 million.
The Kulhudufushi Hospital has stolen the spotlight recently with two extraordinary feats including removing a massive ovarian cyst from a female patient and also treating a baby born at gestation 28 weeks.
