Maldives Meteorological Center (MET Office) has issued out yellow alerts on Southern most atolls.
The weather forecast authority notified the Southern most atolls will experience strong weather conditions from dusk until 21:00hrs on Sunday evening, with wind picking up speed between 50 miles per hour.
Moreover, the authority claimed heavy rainfall will be experienced throughout the region during the notified duration.
Meanwhile the island nation is currently experiencing their Western-hemisphere monsoon or the rainy season.
Some of the local islands have so far reported varying degrees of damage to personal and public property due to stormy weather.
Authorities have warned sea vessel operators to be vary of the worsening weather conditions and practice caution on trips.
