Health Protection Agency HPA says 491 individuals have now tested for Covid-19 in the Maldives as the outbreak nears its peak in the country.
The latest update on the Ministry of Health Covid-19 dashboard revealed that 16 others have tested positive yesterday taking the daily count of cases to 23.
Out of the 16 tested positive, 7 were Maldivian nationals with 2 individuals above 80-years.
Seven more Bangladeshi nationals tested positive for the contagious virus taking the total number of Bangladeshis infected in Maldives to 261.
Two Indians were also tested positive for Covid-19 making it 51 positive cases from India in Maldives.
417 individuals remain under treatment for Covid-19 with 6 admitted in the ICU of Dharumavantha Hospital’s 11th Floor DH11.
17 COVID-19 patients have recovered from the illness in the Maldives.
