Health Minister Abdullah Ameen responds to the queries submitted by MP for Machangoalhi Dhekunu Constituency Ahmed Haitham amid allegations of constitution breach against the minister.
Parliament secretariat said it had received the minister’s response via email earlier this evening at 18:31hrs.
It also said this response was received after Parliament released a statement saying that the Minister had failed to answer a query sent by a MP.
In the statement, Parliament held the minister culpable in accordance with Section 98 of Maldives Constitution and Section 80 of Parliament Act of Maldives citing 14-day answerable period for cabinet ministers to inquiries made in written or any other means.
The 14-day period, with accordance to Section 74 of Parliament Act, became due on Monday, 27 April.
