Health Protection Agency HPA said four other locations in Male’ have now been placed under monitoring in light of the latest Covid-19 cases confirmed in the Capital City.

Speaking to reporters via virtual conference today, HPA medical Officer Dr. Fathimath Nazla Rafeeq said contact tracing for the confirmed Covid-19 cases were now ongoing. She said today four locations in Male’ have been placed under monitoring and that these include M. Venus, M. Flightview, H. Parkside and Male’ Square.

Dr. Nazla said so far a total of 305 individuals have been identified as contacts of the first three cases reported in Male’ and they have been isolated. She said some of these contacts have shown symptoms of Covid-19 and have since been tested for the virus.

HPA placed 22 residences under monitoring in Male’ Area yesterday in relation to the first case that tested positive for the virus.

A total of 28 people have tested positive for Covid-19 in Maldives with 16 declared recovered from the illness. 10 others remain under treatment.
